Computer Forensic Analysis

Bosaw & Associates LLC applies superior computer examination and analysis techniques, in our office or world-wide with our custom made Portable Forensic Workstation, to gather evidence suitable for presentation in all courts of law. We perform a structured examination while maintaining a documented evidence chain of custody to find out exactly what happened on a computer and who was responsible. We follow a standard set of procedures to maintain evidence integrity:

• Isolate the target computer or storage media using proper seizure procedures.
• Make a bit-stream copy of the target storage media using non-invasive write-blocking hardware.
• Store original target storage media in a secure storage facility.
• Maintain chain of custody records.
• Perform all examinations on digital copy.

Bosaw & Associates LLC uses a variety of techniques and proprietary forensic applications to examine the target media copy, searching hidden folders, file slack and unallocated disk space for copies of deleted, encrypted, or damaged files. Any evidence found on the digital copy is carefully documented in a "Report of Analysis" and verified with the original target media in preparation for legal proceedings that involve discovery, depositions, or litigation.

Our custom-built Portable Forensic Workstation (pictured on right) is capable of acquiring and storing data from several computers without having to carry additional hard drives to store the data. The unit weighs 23 pounds and built into a Pelican 1520 case. The dimensions of the case measure under 45" which is acceptable as carry-on luggage by all airlines.
